North Korean hackers affiliated with the Lazarus Group have infiltrated the U.S. business landscape by creating shell companies—Blocknovas LLC in New Mexico and Softglide LLC in New York—using falsified documentation. These entities allegedly posed as legitimate crypto employers to distribute malware, exploiting vulnerabilities in business registration systems. A third unregistered entity, Angeloper Agency, is also linked to the scheme.

The operation, attributed to a Lazarus subgroup by cybersecurity firm Silent Push, underscores systemic risks in crypto’s hiring ecosystem. By leveraging fake job offers, the hackers bypassed sanctions and targeted developers—a tactic that highlights the industry’s need for enhanced due diligence.
